Clean Republic is Donating Disinfectant to Hospitals

“When we began getting calls from nurses saying they were making their own disinfectant because they were in short supply, we knew we needed to put something into action. Partnering with an organization like CHA feels like a really good step forward. As the leading voice of the Colorado hospital and health system community, we can trust they will distribute our disinfectant to the hospitals in the greatest need,” said Clean Republic Director of Brand Development, Robin Vega.

For those of you who haven’t heard yet, Clean Republic's hospital grade Disinfectant + Sanitizer can now be used to effectively stop the spread of coronavirus, the trigger for the potentially deadly respiratory disease COVID-19. According to the World Health Organization, to date, COVID-19 has killed more than 160,000 people worldwide, infected nearly 2.4 million, and continues to spread rapidlyOur Disinfectant + Sanitizer is joining the fight to stop the spread of coronavirus!

“While it is gratifying to be able to use our Disinfectant + Sanitizer for use against COVID-19, it is also noteworthy that Clean Republic kills viruses much more complex and is one of the very few products on the list that is gentle enough for use around people,” said the company’s CEO and co-founder, Hugh Huffaker.  “Unlike Clean Republic, most disinfectants approved to kill COVID-19 contain harsh chemicals and toxic fumes that can be unsafe and have harmful side-effects.”

As an alternative to products that contain harsh chemicals and toxic fumes, we are excited to announce our partnership with Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) to provide hospitals with virus-killing disinfectant as cases of COVID-19 continue to increase. Clean Republic will donate 100 gallons of Disinfectant + Sanitizer per week to CHA, which will allocate the product to hospitals most in need. CHA has partnered with Angel Flight West to deliver supplies all over rural Colorado.

“CHA is pleased to partner with Clean Republic to bring much needed medical grade disinfectant to Colorado’s rural hospitals,” said Benjamin Anderson, CHA vice president of rural health and hospitals, and a member of Governor Jared Polis’ PPE Task Force. “The coronavirus crisis has caused hospitals in Colorado, particularly in rural areas, to face potential shortages of PPE and infection control supplies. This initiative will be extremely helpful.”

In addition to the Coronavirus, Clean Republic is also proven to kill Norovirus, Rhinovirus, and HIV, as well superbugs like MRSA and C.Diff., a condition that has plagued hospitals for years. We are able to do all of this WITHOUT harsh chemicals and toxic fumes.

HOW?

The main ingredient found in Clean Republic is hypochlorous acid (“HOCl”), a substance found naturally in the human's white blood cells called neutrophils. Hypochlorous acid in the body works to break down the cells that are creating the infection by destroying the cell membrane and its DNA, thus halting the replication or growth process. HOCl is Ph balanced, eco-friendly and natural, without strong and hazardous fumes.

Clean Republic has been used in hotels, spas, and fitness studios across the U.S. and the product is available to individuals and businesses across the country. Clean Republic’s EPA-approved Disinfectant + Sanitizer has been registered and approved for use in more than 30 states and approval is anticipated in all remaining U.S. states in the coming weeks (to see a list of states where the product is currently approved please click here). Clean Republic also makes a powerful non-toxic  All-Purpose Everyday Cleaner using HOCl which is available nationwide.
